“ It doesn't get anymore authentic than this! It feels like a taste of home, like I'm surrounded by my aunties and uncles I love it! Super friendly staff here - don't be discouraged if you're a first timer, they will take care of you. The prepared food is very convenient to pick up after work as it saves me some time from cooking. The food is delicious and prices are reasonable. ”
“ Been here a few times. A co-worker has talked about how big the tacos were, so of course I had to try it. First time there, I ordered 1 carnitas taco. This taco was huge, and came stacked with carnitas, onions and cilantro, you can make a few tacos out of one tbh. Of course after this visit I shared it with my carpool buddy and he suggested we stop by for 1 taco. I suggested carnitas so we both ordered one. He loved it so much, he suggested we come back the next day and try the burrito, I was all for it. We both ordered the carne asada and as was the same with the tacos, this burrito was stacked with meat, beans, rice, onion and cilantro. Includes a small salad (I think the dressing is crema or a form of sour cream) and red and green salsa. I don't live nearby but will definitely stop by and catch some food on the way to the beach, as it's right near the beach! The place is also a market with fresh meat, produce and hot food by the pound. The menu offers burritos, tacos, tortas, soups, taquitos and plates of various meat offerings. Accessible, although aisle are somewhat narrow. ”
“ 100% authentic Mexican grocery store with deli that has tacos, enchiladas, etc. Delicious food, and groceries, perfect for locals!! ”
“ Best burrito in Orange county hands down. The food is amazing. Great market as well. It's my bad but If I spoke better Spanish I'd do better ordering, they got bilingual people there so you can navigate pretty easy. ”
“ I’m always happy to swing by El Campeon for their burritos. Good value for just under 10. Their combination plates aren’t bad either. This is my favorite spot for authentic Mexican food on the go. The interior is kind of a convenience store/deli with other Hispanic foods for home. ”
“ This has been my go to meat market in Costa Mesa. They have other items that you can conveniently pick up for last minute carne asadas or if you’re cooking up an authentic Mexican meal and need an ingredient. I usually stop by Sunday around 3/4pm and it’s not very busy. I stick to the diesmillo and pollo preparado, for my meal preps. Price fluctuates a bit, but I usually spend 50 a week on enough protein for my weekday meals. They have warm food available as well, which I have tried. I ordered the enchiladas with mole sauce plate. They were good, but not great. I’ll continue to support this small Mexican business over the larger chains. ”
“ The meat is absolutely delicious! Order some tacos de birria & sopes de carnitas. They stuff it with meat. Homemade tortillas Their salsas are good, not that spicy though. It is a pretty small location, it is also a store! There are so many good Mexican products. The employees are very nice & patient. ”
“ OMG! What can I say about Authentic Mexican amazingness! I feel like everyones grandma and Aunties are right there sharing their home, kitchen, and love for food with me. Friendly staff, kept making eye contact and smiling. We ordered, asada burrito, asada Taco, bbq beef Taco, chicken enchiladas, some kind of green pork thing, and a red chicken soup thing. It all tasted amazing. And as an islander I can appreciate their generous portions. Very reasonably priced. I'm going to bave to come back before we leave in a few days. ”
